Canadian Tire credit cards
A marquee Canadian retailer, Canadian Tire stores enjoy nearly national brand awareness. In 1922, Canadian Tire began as a modest garage and tire store in Toronto and later incorporated in 1927 as Canadian Tire Corporation. By 1934, it opened its first associate store in Hamilton, setting the stage for its expansion nationwide. In 1968, it acquired a small financial services firm specializing in credit card processing and named it Canadian Tire Acceptance Ltd., a precursor to the robust financial services arm that the company operates today. Canadian Tire continues to offer a variety of great cards — like cash back, rewards, and gas cards — through MasterCard.
