5 Tips To Help You Enjoy Christmas This Year

By: Martin Dasko on December 25, 2015

Christmas hackingYes, it’s that time of the year again. The malls are going to be swamped and you’re going to be hearing Christmas tunes everywhere. In between stressing about shopping for gifts and trying to figure out how to get out of that party that you really don’t want to attend, chances are that the holidays will pass you by pretty quickly.

I wanted to throw out my favourite tips for making this the best Christmas yet. And, if it’s too late for you this year, use this tips to plan to enjoy Christmas next year.

Buy that one perfect gift

I don’t care about what I get (unless it’s a nice bottle of cologne) because I enjoy giving out gifts. I want you to find that one special gift this year. It doesn’t have to be the most expensive gift. You can get something thoughtful or an item that you know that person would never buy. For example, I’ve sent my Mom to the spa because I know the she loves going but she just would never spoil herself with something like this. There’s now better way to enjoy Christmas than to give that one great gift.

A helpful hint for finding that perfect gift is to ask lots of questions in the fall. You don’t want to start asking questions in December because that person will be suspicious. I love a true surprise.

Send out hand written cards

Have you ever written out an actual Christmas card? In 2011, I went out of my way to send out Christmas cards to my friends and online buddies. The responses were tremendous. Friends were shocked that I went out of my way to display this gesture. I just wanted to have some fun. This year I’m thinking of creating my own customized cards to entertain my friends.

Avoid last minute shopping

I don’t want you to go broke because you spent Christmas Eve at the mall trying to find gifts for your 14 cousins and 6 siblings. The worst thing in the world is trying to find a gift on Christmas Eve. You likely won’t even find a parking spot. You’re also going to wait in line forever as you lose your mind and think about how you’re late for that party.

The stress of last minute shopping isn’t worth it. We all do it. This is just a friendly reminder to not put off your gift shopping.

Plan a sweet Christmas jam

My birthday is the day after Christmas so I’m always trying to put together the best party of the season. If you want to connect friends and throw a party that everyone will enjoy, I suggest that you start planning early to figure out the logistics. We all remember an excellent Christmas party, and you will enjoy Christmas more when you’re doing something fun for others.

Invite a friend to join your family

This one feels really good actually. Last year we had a friend come over for red wine and laughs on Christmas Eve. The beauty of the holiday season is that you can bring people together. The more the merrier, right?

No matter where you are, you can make this the best Christmas season ever. If you don’t celebrate Christmas, then you can still apply these tips to get the most out of your December.
