Warm Welcome to our Student Ambassadors!

By: Camille Orellano on September 17, 2015

Good afternoon, everyone!

We are very excited to share with you a special initiative we’ve been working on!

When we launched the 3rd Annual Student Money Saving Guide this fall we decided to add something special to the guide this year. That's how the idea of the Ambassador Program was born. We have 5 amazing Ambassadors from different Canadian schools championing the Guide.

Their main mission is to inform young people about the importance of personal finance, how to budget their money, and keep them optimistic about their financial future. They truly believe in what the guide has to offer and they want to help their fellow students learn the value of money!

The Ambassadors will be talking about the 6 sections of the guide:

  • Scholarships and Bursaries
  • Housing
  • Transportation
  • Food
  • Budgeting
  • Day-to-Day Spending

Join them on their journey to becoming financially healthier while influencing young people to make smarter decisions with their money!

Here's a small bio from each of our Ambassadors:

Mallory Phillips is a second year at Queen's University majoring in sociology and economics. She plans to continue her education into the field of socioeconomics.

Angela Wong is 19 years old, she grew up in BC but now lives in Montreal to attend school at McGill! She loves going for hikes and being outdoors but being in a big city for the school year is great.

Rebecca Glavin is 19 years old and she is studying the Bachelor of Applied Arts in Paralegal Studies at Humber College Lakeshore Campus. It is her dream to go to Law School, pass the Canadian Barr and open a small practice in a small town.

Carol Khoury is a second year BBA undergraduate at York University. She is passionate about numbers and art. She loves being active and spending time in the great outdoors.

Noreen Gladys Bagang is a first year Commerce student at the University of Toronto Mississauga. Her hobbies include playing sports such as basketball, volleyball, and ultimate frisbee. My future goal is to travel and work around the world.

We are so excited about this initiative and we know our Ambassadors will do us proud! For being awesome advocates of the Guide, they are all receiving bursaries for their hard work and dedication towards helping young people become financially unstoppable.

Make sure to follow the Ambassadors on social media to get the latest tips on how to save big this school year. We will keep you posted on the awesome projects they are doing around their college campus to spread awareness about the guide.
