Some exciting news from us: we've won something we're really proud of!

On Wednesday night in Toronto, Startup Canada announced that LowestRates.ca was the winner the High-Growth Entreprenuership Award, which recognizes the fastest growing compaies in Canada. The gala was attended by entreprenuers from across the country and featured dozens of categories recognizing the most innnovative and visionary startups and entreprenuers in the country.

"It's an honour to recieve this award, and to be competiting with the best and brightest in Canada," said Justin Thouin, CEO and co-founder of LowestRates.ca. "Our goal is to make getting the best prices on financial products quick and easy. And we're so glad that millions of Canadians are now using our website to do just that."

The other finalists in our category were some really impressive growth stories in Canada, and we want to take a moment to recognize them: they were Immersive Tech from B.C., HeyOrca from Atlantic Canada and Lightspeed from Quebec.

This has been a big year for us when it comes to awards. Back in September, Canadian Business added us to the Growth 500. We also made the inaugural Top Growing Companies list recently launched by The Globe and Mail.

For those visiting LowestRates.ca for the first time and wondering who we are, here's a quick rundown. LowestRates.ca offers Canadians the ability to quickly and easily compare prices on financial products like mortgages, insurance or credit cards. Think Expedia for personal finance.

There's clearly a hunger in Canada to be able to more easily get the right financial product, while also being able to know you're getting the best price. We compare Canada's top banks, brokers and insurance companies so you don't have to.

Our service is free, and we make money by charging the companies you choose to go with a fee for bringing them a consumer. We are a completely unbiased service, meaning someone can't pay us more for a customer. They either have the lowest rate for the product you need or they don't.

We've seen explosive growth in the number of Canadians who visit LowestRates.ca in recent years and that trend continues to rise. Our goal is to become the first place Canadians come to when they have a financial decision to make.

We'd like to take a moment to thank every single employee at LowestRates.ca who made this happen. Every single team at the company contributes to an award like this, because we wouldn't have grown as a company and gotten to where we are without them.

Finally, we'd also like to recgonize Startup Canada for the work they put into lifting up the entreprenuerial community in Canada. Thanks for the award, and thank you for your hard work!
