Lowest Rates Donates Food and Time to the Red Door Family ShelterAt the end of last week, on Friday, October 16, members of our office staff took about $750 worth of food to the Red Door Family Shelter. We were excited to participate in Food Bank Days at Red Door, and your help on social media helped us exceed our goal of donating $500 worth of groceries.

“Because of the amazing work they do, the Red Door Family Shelter has become one of the largest shelters in Toronto, providing sanctuary and support to hundreds of families every year,” says Justin Thouin, CEO of Lowest Rates Inc.

Not only does Red Door provide a place for families to live while they get back on their feet, the outreach also provides practical solutions that help families transition. Part of Red Door’s Food Bank program is distributing food to former residents. As a result, more than 95% of the families who access this resource remain successfully housed and independent after they leave.

Our Lowest Rates staff did more than drop off the food at the Red Door Family Shelter. As part of the Food Bank Days program, we also helped distribute some of the food from the shelter to former residents. We’re glad to be a part of the Toronto community, and recognize the importance of getting out there and being involved for good.

“The services that Red Door provides are in urgent demand right now, which is why we think it’s more important than ever for the community to support this indispensable charity with food and financial donations,” says Cliff Ritter, the CMO of Lowest Rates Inc.
