It’s one of the biggest insurance providers in Canada — particularly in personal, home and auto insurance. The TD Insurance advantage
TD Insurance offers a range of discounts to policyholders. For example, you get a discount on your car insurance if you bundle it with TD home insurance. Those with two or more vehicles insured with TD are also eligible for a discount. Other criteria that can net you a discount include:
- If an occasional driver of your vehicle attends school full-time at an accredited institution.
- Having an approved anti-theft system.
- Driving a hybrid or electric vehicle.
- Choosing to bundle home and car insurance with TD Insurance.
TD Insurance also offers a number of special programs:
TD MyAdvantage - TD Insurance offers telematic car insurance. What’s that, you ask? If you apply for this program, you’ll receive a special app for your phone that collects data about your driving ability when you’re on the road. TD advertises savings of up to 25% on car insurance premiums for policyholders who opt into the program (it’s free and totally voluntary).
Accident Forgiveness - After purchasing this product, your car insurance rates won’t go up if you have an at-fault or partially-at-fault accident.
Grand Touring - For people travelling long distances within Canada and the U.S., TD’s Grand Touring insurance covers you for rental car insurance, a temporary rental car, and towing expenses.
Replacement value for total loss - This optional policy assures you receive the replacement value of your car if it is lost due to theft or extreme damage.
Yes — with the TD Insurance app, policyholders can check their coverage and file claims using their mobile device. Modify your coverage, view your claims status and history, change your address and modify your payment plan, all from your smartphone.
